I like to use the oriental carpets in high-traffic areas such as the foyer or under a breakfast room table because they are so durable and if they have a dense pattern, they hide a multitude of sins. Also, I will sometimes use them in kitchens and baths because it softens the area and brings color and pattern to the many hard surfaces in those rooms.

One of my specialties is custom homes. When working on a project I like to do a variety of carpets, textures and weaves. To me, it is very boring to see the same type of carpet repeated from room to room. I select the carpet based on the function of the room, the amount of traffic it will get, whether there are pets or not, and of course, the look for the client.
